Rackham Choir has recently concluded their High School Intern Audition process and are pleased to announce the following vocal interns that will be joining the Rackham Choir for the 2022 – 2023 season:
- Anna Schultz ~ Is part of the audition treble choir at her high school and has been in the children’s chorus at the Detroit Opera House. Her plan is to study classical voice and opera in college and is interested in musical theater. Anna attends Cranbrook High School.
- Chloe Debulois ~ Plays guitar, euphonium and participated in school choir for 5 years while also singing at choir camp, school plays and volunteering her vocal talents at the Manoogian Manor Home. She hopes to attend Michigan State and ultimately become a choir teacher. Chloe attends Farmington Public Schools.
- Baleigh Smith ~ For the past five years Baleigh has played the bass and sings with the Detroit Community Music School. For the past 4 years Baleigh has actively participated in five of her High School Choirs as well as attended Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp. She has performed with the Stars at the Michigan Jazz Festival and was runner up in the 2022 Detroit Jazz Festival Youth Vocal Jazz Competition in addition to performing in multiple jazz ensembles. Baleigh’s plan is to major in Jazz and minor in Music Production and or Management. Baleigh attends Detroit School of the Arts.
- Brendan Lockhart ~ Is a returning program participant for his 2nd year as a senior with Rackham. He performs in multiple concert band and choir ensembles, marching band, and jazz ensembles with his school and has versatile skills as a singer, pianist, and instrumentalist. He hopes to study in New York or Chicago and one day become a conductor. Brendan attends Waterford Mott High School.
The internship program is funded solely through donations, including those gathered at the showcase, and a major grant from The Village Club Foundation.
Rackham Choir Spring Concerts

Join Rackham Choir, William S. Harrison Chorale, Cody High School Women’s Ensemble, Rooted, and the Songs of Freedom Orchestra, under the baton of William S. Harrison, Sr. to celebrate Black History Month with a sacred symphonic choral concert featuring Sacred Music of African American composers.
The event is sponsored by the Office of Black Catholic Ministry, Archdiocese of Detroit.
Saturday February 25, 6:00 p.m. at St. Anne’s Basilica, 1000 Saint Anne St., Detroit, MI 48216. There is NO CHARGE for this concert.

“Rising to the Top” Saturday, May 27, 1:00 p.m.
This year’s High School Vocal Intern Program Showcase is held at First Presbyterian Church of Royal Oak and will feature Rackham Choir’s four students this season: Chloe Debulois, Farmington High School, Brendan Lockhart, Waterford Mott High, Baleigh Smith, Detroit School of Arts and Anna Schultz, Cranbrook High School. Stay tuned for more about these talented young singers.
