Duke Ellington's Sacred Concert Sunday, April 14, 2024

The audience is invited to swing with soul when Rackham Choir proudly presents Duke Ellington’s “Sacred Concert” on April 14, 2024, at Hartford Memorial Church in Detroit. This rarely heard cultural treasure is presented in collaboration with Wayne State University Department of Music and features soaring choral music, big band sounds and the energy of tap dance.

We opened this season with Gabriel Fauré's Requiem in D minor on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 7:30 PM, at First Presbyterian Church of Royal Oak.

Student Invited Dress Rehearsal of Too Hot To Handel

Detroit favorite Too Hot To Handel will return with a special performance for students on Friday, January 12, 2024, 11a.m. at the Detroit Opera House.

Rackham Choir announces the 2023-2024 High School Vocal Interns

Rackham Choir announces the five participants in this season's High School Vocal Intern Program. We are pleased to welcome back Ms. Chloe Dublois and Ms. Anna Schwartz. Additionally we are excited to be singing with Ms. Riya Nambiar, Ms. Tayla Samuel and Ms. Dana Lockhart.

Education Outreach

Our High School Vocal Internship Program offers a unique opportunity in Detroit for young singers to receive professional singing training and to be part of Rackham Choir. Many of our alumni go on to study at music college. Applications for auditions for our 2023-2024 High School Vocal Internship Program will be accepted until June 1, 2024. Auditions will take place on June 22, 2024.
